Driving Safety

  • Always be ready for road emergencies - carry spare change for emergency calls, or if you have a cellular phone, make sure that the battery is fully charge.
  • Have the following items in you car at all times: Emergency flasher, tire jack, spare tire, lug wrench, flashlight, fire extinguisher, screw drivers, jumper cables, engine fluids, first aid kit, blanket, even extra fuse.
  • If you car breaks down, call someone right away to let them know that you have an emergency. If you know a auto shop, call them and ask for help. Most auto shop will send for a tow truck right away.
  • If you are on a long trip and is driving along, make sure you call your family and friends frequently to tell them where you are at your road trip and far you are from your destination.
  • If you noticed that you are being followed, drive to the nearst police station, fire station, or open business. Let them know that you are being followed and describe and the driver of the car following you.
  • Be aware of your sorrounding at all times.
  • Keep your eyes on the road at all times.
  • Use your cellular phone only if necessary. If you must make a phone call, use a heatset and put your cell phone on automatic answwering system.
  • Always yield to pedestrians.
  • Exercise extra caution on school zones. Always follow school buses carefully and yield to them whenever you can. Follow school zone speed limit.
